Attorney Hawthorne, the Principal Attorney at the Hawthorne Law Office, is a graduate of the University of Chicago and Boston College Law School. He is licensed in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and is the author of West Publishing Massachusetts Practice Series Volumes 15 to 16B. He lives on the South Shore of Boston with his family.

He specializes in construction law (homeowner /contractor disputes, mechanic’s liens, construction financing), real estate (management, leasing, landlord and tenant actions, development and sales of difficult properties, title issues, owner disputes, petitions for partition), small business advice and representation (corporate entity advice, formation, and representation), elder law (conservatorships and guardianships, elder financial abuse), wills, estate planning, and trusts.

Before becoming a lawyer, he has been a remodeling contractor (One of 300 remodeling contractors selected nationwide in 1979 to attend the HUD Urban Ventures seminar in Washington, D.C.), rehab specialist, licensed real estate broker, has owned and operated a health club, been CEO of a private grammar school for gifted children, owned a real estate consultant and brokerage firm (specializing in bank-workouts, foreclosure counseling, and IRC Section 42 Low Income Housing Tax Credits). He has been a builder and developer of single family homes, condominiums, general office space, medical office space (he once bought a hospital and retrofitted it to office space), distressed property conversions, and urban and suburban rehab (converted an 1893 school into housing for the elderly).
